Once again I went out a little fast and wasn't able to maintain the 1st mile pace. Next week I'll pick a goal pace and try to stick with it. Having said that, I am pleased with today's run overall because 1. it was outside in this heat and humidity 2. it included hills and a BIG hill and 3. it was under an 11 minute average. So... I'll take it, and I'll work on more even splits next week.
Mile 1: 9:58
Mile 2: 10:48
Mile 3: 10:44
Total Time: 31:29
Avg. Mile: 10:30
additional notes:
- foot aches are gone! (golf ball massage and a longer break between runs helped)
- this weekend ends week 2 of 18 weeks of training!
- I remain very excited about the goal of running and finishing a marathon!
- I'm reading: Run Your First Marathon by Grete Waitz
- I will probably finish it on the 5 hr road trip tomorrow

Great cartoon! :) The guy probably has "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" playing on his iPod.
ReplyDeleteGreat time, too! I wouldn't consider 10:30 to be "moseying", but if you do, you're definitely up for a full marathon!!
oh no, I didn't mean to connect the cartoon with my pace lol.
