I moved my Tuesday run to Monday because it'll be super busy tomorrow between getting to the voting polls early and trying to catch up on a pile of work on my desk. It feels good to have the run over with and not worry when I can fit in 9 miles.
I met my co-worker who is also training for the full. We ran a 4.5 mile out and back. In the beginning I felt a little weird...tingly and woozy. The best I can describe it is that I felt like I needed to eat something, specifically a Twix™(King Size!) I had a good breakfast and lunch but in hindsight I probably should of had a 3pm snack to give me energy for the 5:45pm run.
For relief I dipped into my supply of Jelly Belly Sports Beans earlier than usual and it seemed to help as I was feeling better around mile 3.
Overall it was a fantastic run! During the last mile I felt I came close to if not experienced a runners high. I felt like I was effortlessly floating at a high speed (Garmin clocked a 5:22 max pace during the last mile!)
It's good to be a runner.
